Curiosity is the driving force behind my work. My practice spans a broad range of media, and my work has taken the form of installation, performance, video, photography, painting, drawing and combinations of these media. While embracing various mediums and artistic approaches, I found myself returning to the simplicity and immediacy of drawing.
Treating paper as a playground, this series of drawings is the result of my play with ink and water. I embrace natural phenomena such as gravity and fluidly, allowing them to dictate the process. When the water evaporates, the ink remains. The drips trace the influence of gravity, and the marks are a residue of the inkʼs movement.Responding to these organic markings, I balance the pictorial space with deliberate evidence of my hand. I strive to create works that are subtle and sparse, and to move the viewer towards introspection.
